Privacy
For grown-ups. Squishy Click is made for kids. We built it to collect as little as possible. Last updated October 14, 2026.
What we never collect
- No names, phone numbers, photos, voice or location from kids. Nothing kids type is collected.
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No ads, no advertising ID, and no outside tracking or analytics tools.
- We never sell or share data with advertisers.
- No chat and nothing kids can type to other players.
What the game keeps
- Progress on the device. Squishies, levels, stickers and settings are saved on the phone, tablet or computer itself. We can't see them.
- A shared save, only if you use "Play on another device". The game progress (squishies, stickers, helpers and numbers) is kept on our server under the random player code, so the linked devices stay the same. Linking uses a 6-digit code that works once for 15 minutes. No name, email or password is asked for. Shared saves are deleted after 12 months without play, or right away with Delete my data.
- A grown-up backup email, only if a grown-up adds one. A grown-up can protect a player with their email so the squishies can come back on another device, and to reset a forgotten Squish PIN. We email once to confirm (nothing is kept unless the link is opened), and after that only when someone asks for a recovery link. It is never shown to anyone and never used for ads or newsletters. Families who bought something already have their purchase email on file, and it works the same way. A child is never asked for an email. To remove it, reply to any of our emails or use Delete my data.
- A Squish PIN, only if the player makes one. We keep a scrambled version (never the numbers themselves) inside the shared save, so the player's devices can check it.
- A custom name, a player page and friends, only with Name and Friends or the Squish Club. A grown-up buys these for one player, and paying is their permission. The player can type their own name; it is checked by a filter (rude words, real names, contact details), our team is told about every new name and can reset any of them, and players are reminded not to use their real name. The player page (playsquishyclick.com/@name) shows only game things, is hidden from search engines, and is turned off with "Others can see my squishies". Friends are added only by swapping an 8-number friend code; friends see each other's player card and send preset cheers, never messages. A grown-up can turn Friends off in More, and a refund takes the name and friends away.
- The device's time zone setting (like "America/New_York"). It shows our team roughly which regions players come from, for example "US Eastern". It is a region, never a place, and we never collect location, addresses or IP-based location.
- A leaderboard entry on our server. A random player code made by the game, a made-up player name chosen from a word list (like "Sunny Otter 10"), the squishy being played and a score. The code can't identify a person. This lets the game show the leaderboard and the World Squish Party. Other players can tap a name on the leaderboard to see that player's card: the made-up name, which squishies they have and their levels, a few stickers, game numbers (like total squish and best combo), the number of cheers received, and a Squish Club badge for members. The card never shows anything personal, and players can only send each other preset cheers, never messages. A grown-up can hide the card with More, then "Others can see my squishies".
- Cheers. Players can send one of 8 fixed cheer pictures. They aren't stored.
- Play statistics, on our own server. Tied only to the random player code: when the game is opened, how long it's played, levels and stickers reached, totals like squish and how many squishies there are, which screens are opened (for example the Squish Club), and errors. We use them to run and improve Squishy Click, and to see totals like how many people played today. No outside analytics tools are involved. Turning off Online play in More turns this off too.
Purchases
Purchases are optional, cosmetic only, and every one is behind a grown-ups' check. Payments are handled by Google Play, the App Store or, on the web, Stripe. We never see card details; we receive a confirmation of what was bought so the game can unlock it.
For purchases on the website we keep the grown-up's email address that Stripe gives us with the payment. We use it only to send the receipt, to send a link that adds the purchase to another device when you ask for one, and to answer questions about the purchase. We keep purchase records as long as tax and refund law requires.
How long we keep it
Leaderboard entries are deleted automatically after 12 months without play, or right away when you ask. Play statistics are deleted after 180 days (error reports after 90); only daily totals that can't be linked to anyone are kept longer. Our hosting provider may keep standard server records (such as an IP address) for a short time to keep the service safe and running; they aren't used to identify or profile anyone.
Deleting data
Go to Delete my data, or use More, then Start over in the game. Both remove the progress on that device, the leaderboard entry and the play statistics on our server. To delete the email address kept for a purchase, email us.
